100 Thieves announce return of jungler Meteos

North American esports organization and lifestyle brand 100 Thieves have made a surprising announcement in the return of jungler William “Meteos” Hartman to its League of Legends roster. The 26 year old transitions into his new role from a previous position on OpTic Gaming, which was later acquired by Immortals with its purchase of Infinite Esports and Entertainment.

Meteos returns to 100 Thieves

Meteos previously competed for the Thieves during their entrance into the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) in 2017. He brought them to a 1st place finish in the 2018 NA LCS Spring Split, but the team placed 2nd in the Spring Playoffs after a loss to Team Liquid. He proceeded to compete in the 2018 NA LCS Summer Split, before being traded to FlyQuest Academy for Andy “AnDa” Hoang.

The split seemed sudden and rumors floated around that his departure was due to a fallout – a lack of good synergy with the coach at the time, Neil “pr0lly” Hammad. Many also were disgruntled with the organization since the jungler helped the team achieve their first win in the LCS. However, 100 Thieves general manager Christopher “PapaSmithy” Smith and head coach Tony “Zikz” Gray are now in the reigns, after the team recently parted ways with pr0lly.

Fresh start into 2020 season

Meteos describes his return as a fresh start and is excited to be back. 100 Thieves hasn’t made many recent roster changes, other than the signing of Alex “Gorica” Gorica to the academy roster from 2019’s North America Scouting Grounds. Mid laner Ryu “Ryu” Sang-wook has also departed the organization after two years, during which he switched between rosters and a coaching role.
