Call of Duty Challengers prize pool and schedule revealed

The Call of Duty League has set out its schedule and prize pool for the Call of Duty Challengers across the season. The prize pool is the highest ever seen for Call of Duty amateurs, with over $1 million in prizes up for grabs. Last year, for example, the amateurs league for Black Ops 4 had a $75,000 prize pool. The announcement made via the Call of Duty League’s Twitter page shows that there will be three major tournaments, along with smaller $2K tournaments taking place online most Saturdays.

At the Minnesota launch weekend, a $250,000 prize pool was available, alongside 25,000 equally valuable CDL points. Over 165 teams attended the event, but Team Singularity from the UK took first place. In the summer, another Call of Duty Challengers event will take place with the same $25,000 prize pool and 25,000 CDL points up for grabs. The highest prize pool will be available at a Challengers event on the final event of the year, championship weekend. This will see a plethora of amateur teams play for an impressive $500,000 and 50,000 CDL points.

Also, smaller team-hosted open events will see a minimum $10,000 prize pool. Alongside the $1 million prizing on the line for the main events, the very best CDL Challengers teams of the event will have the opportunity to play on the main stage in front of an audience. This shows the newly franchised league is eager to support amateur teams and provide players with opportunities more than ever before.

The first Call of Duty Challengers-only event is set to take place in Paris between Feb. 29 and March 1. The second will be in Toronto between March 21 and 22, and the third in Atlanta between May 21 and 24. Teams will have many opportunities overall to prove their worth though.
