Valorant esports community guidelines Riot Games Can I watch multiple Twitch streams to increase my chances of a Valorant closed beta drop

Valorant’s massive closed beta finally launched today and millions of gamers are desperate to get access to a closed beta key. As we detailed here yesterday, the only way to get access to the closed beta is to get lucky while watching a Twitch stream. After signing up for accounts on Riot Games and Twitch (and linking the two accounts), the player must watch players who are streaming Valorant with the “Drops Enabled” tag. While this is a frustrating game of chance, many players are wondering if they can game the system: Can I boost my chances of getting access to the closed beta by watching multiple streams at once?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. According to the official Twitter page for the Valorant team, “watching multiple streams at once doesn’t increase your chances of getting a drop.”

The tweet was written in response to a player who was worried that they’d be at an unfair disadvantage. “I really want [to] play Valorant… My PC is not good enough to run 40 streams like others,” the player lamented. So while the news that multiple streams don’t increase closed beta drop chances will not make most players happy, it’s a great equalizer for many who aren’t fortunate enough to be playing on high-powered rigs.

Valorant closed beta drops paused

If you are reading this article shortly after it went live, chances are that you don’t even have access to closed beta drops for the time bieng. Earlier this morning, the PlayValorant channel tweeted that Twitch drops had been temporarily paused as they work through server issues. While players are still eligible to win the drops, they won’t actually be handed out until the issues are fixed.

While this is definitely a bummer, it isn’t a huge surprise. With over 1.6 million Twitch viewers watching Valorant at the time of writing, chances of server issues are undoubtedly high.
