CouRage to leave Twitch for exclusive streaming deal on YouTube

CouRage aka CouRageJD leaves Twitch for exclusive YouTube streaming deal

According to a report by notable esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop is leaving Twitch to stream exclusively on YouTube. CouRage becomes the third major personality in recent times to leave the streaming giant for an exclusive deal with a competitor. Over the last few months, megastars Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek have both announced that they’ve jumped to Microsoft’s upstart streaming platform, Mixer. We also recently learned that Twitch would be retaining one of its stars, when Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff announced an exclusive streaming deal with Twitch.

CouRage (also known as CouRageJD) began his career on the Halo circuit and eventually made his way to the Call of Duty pro scene, where he built a following as a shoutcaster. He’s since become a full-time Fortnite content creator for the notable 100 Thieves esports organization. At the time of this writing, he has amassed more than 2.1 million followers on Twitch, 1.1m followers on Twitter, and 1.85m subscribers on YouTube. We couldn’t get his Mixer following numbers because his Mixer profile currently shows a “stream suspended” page.

Breslau dropped another bombshell shortly after breaking the news of CouRage’s jump to YouTube. The deal was apparently negotiated by his agency, Loaded, and additional Loaded clients are expected to make major announcements in the near future. Loaded also employs the services of other huge personalities like timthetatman, LIRIK, and summit1g, among others.

UPDATE: CouRage has confirmed the reports with an official announcement video on his YouTube channel, titled “CouRage’s Big Announcement – The Next Chapter.”

The video included statements from CouRage himself:

“I’ve been meaning to share this for a while but I’m leaving… When I first started this, I had no idea how big the CouRageous would become… This move opens up so many possibilities. I want to grow as an entertainer… I just know I can do so much more. I don’t want to get stagnant and feel like I’m stuck in some 9-to-5 job… I want to make more content and develop new skills.”

A few of these “skills” shown in the video included shooting fake trick shots from the top of a building, devouring handfuls of potato chips, and pouring way more olive oil than necessary when cooking. You can check out the entertaining announcement clip below.
