Dallas Call of Duty name revealed to be the Empire

Dallas Empire Dallas Call of Duty League

After a week of roster announcements, Dallas Call of Duty has finally revealed their brand. On a live stream Saturday night, Dallas officially announced that they will be called the Empire for the 2020 Call of Duty League season. This was the expected name after multiple leaks, although it’s refreshing to see it come to fruition. One thing that was not leaked was the color wave Dallas would be using, of which there are multiple. With their brand unveiled, all that’s left for Dallas to announce is substitute spots, coaches, and other personnel. That all should happen with the next couple of weeks.

Dallas Empire, the next official CDL brand

Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard barely anything regarding the brands for CDL teams. So far, we have the Royal Ravens and the L.A. Guerrillas as the only official brands. However, one more can be added to that list with the Dallas Empire.

As previously mentioned, this name was the assumed outcome from Dallas’ live stream. Although, we had no idea how the Empire name would be presented or what colors Dallas would use for their logo/merchandise. We know now that the Empire will use a wide array of color waves for their brand.

White, navy blue, black, and gold are all represented in some way. The navy blue/white combo was expected since Empire is owned by Team Envy, which uses that exact color scheme. However, it’s nice to see so many options available instead of the standard two-to-three colors.

In regards to the logo itself, most agree that simplicity was a good route to take. A crown on top of the Empire wording makes for a simple yet elegant look that fans can get behind. Also, hidden in the logo are the letters “NV,” paying homage to the owners, Team Envy.

Limited merchandise can be purchased from the official Dallas Empire website. The merchandise line includes two long sleeve T-shirts, a baseball cap, and a hoodie. Apparel won’t last long, so make sure you get yours while you can.

With an already stacked starting roster in place, this new brand is the cherry on top for the Empire. We’ll have to wait and see if the hype built around this team lasts or fizzles out once the CDL begins in 2020.
