DreamHack confirms plans for 2020 schedule

Swedish esports production and tournament organizer company DreamHack has announced its plans for the 2020 season, with at least 11 events in 10 cities across the world. Traditional esports titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, League of Legends, and Rocket League are expected to be hosted. However, the upcoming releases of other games could also make it to a future event, like Fortnite did.

DreamHack events in 2020

  • Leipzig: January 24 – 26
    • Leipzig has been an annual location since 2016. The 2020 event will feature a Dota 2 major with Season 13 of DreamLeague. In addition, a DreamHack Open CSGO event will take place.
  • Anaheim: February 21 – 23
    • This is DreamHack’s first-ever Anaheim event, which will include a $250,000 Fortnite tournament.
  • Dallas: May 22 – 24
    • Previously hosted in 2019, DreamHack Dallas returns for 2020.
  • Summer (Jönköping, Sweden): June 11 – 15
    • The Jönköping event has been hosted every summer for the past 15 years. The past event boasted great weather, which led to non-gaming activities, like a game of dodgeball with popular Twitch streamer Sodapoppin. Ninety hours of LAN will be played, with a mystery surprise planned.
  • Valencia: July 3 – 5
  • Montreal: September 11 – 13
    • The winter event returns for 2020, after the introduction in 2016.
  • Rotterdam: October 16 – 18
  • Hyderabad: October 30 – Nov. 1
  • Atlanta: November 13 – 15
    • This is the third Atlanta DreamHack event, with 35,000 visitors attending last time at the Georgia World Congress Center.
  • Winter (Jönköping, Sweden): November 27 – 29
    • The expo in 2019 featured 80 hours of LAN and a massive Fortnite tournament, with all of that action and more being repeated in 2020.
  • Sevilla: December 11 – 13
    • DreamHack was brought to Sevilla in 2018, and 2020 will continue with LAN as the event’s core.

The year of 2019 saw Vici Gaming take home the trophy at Stockholm’s Corsair DreamLeague Major and the all-female roster of Besiktas win at Valencia’s DreamHack Showdown. Multiple records of viewership and attendance have been broken during 2019. With 25 years of history, 2020 will only be another chapter for the popular LAN event hosted by DreamHack.
