A new vehicle, a new weapon, bug fixes, and just about everything the PUBG fanbase have wished for over several months. Update #20 is available now on the test servers for testing and feedback.

Quality of life updates:

The ‘quality of life’ update is a set of bug fixes and updates in order to make the game playable to many different types of players.

The current updates are as follows:

  • Added a keyboard guide to the loading screen tips
  • Targeted interactive objects are now more easily distinguishable by the highlighted outline
  • You can now adjust your kill feed display options
  • Players can adjust the normal killfeed results to show 5 to a maximum 10 lines
  • Added TPP Aim Camera Position to options.
  • Players can now report teammates

Alongside the quality of life updates, players can also avoid irritating bugs which may have minimized their chances of winning rounds.

As there were many bugs in the patch notes, listed below are the main bug fixes that players were most aware of.

Main bug fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where characters can sometimes get stuck between a wall and vehicle while exiting the passenger seat.
  • The issue regarding looting sound and visual effects play, even though the item is not looted have been fixed.
  • An issue where the blood effect sometimes shows up randomly when moving in replay

And now, the most exciting updates: A new weapon and vehicle.

The Beryl M762 is a versatile assault rifle which spawns on Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. The new weapon requires 7.62mm ammunition, joining the AKM.

As shown below, upper and lower rails of the Beryl are available allowing players to add grips and scopes. In addition, the Beryl deals less damage but has a much higher firing rate, allowing players to deal more damage than the AKM if recoil is controlled.

As for the new vehicle, it’s a Sanhok-exclusive Scooter! A perfect addition to the Asian culture.

The scooter can handle the hills and terrain around the map but for what it lacks in speed, it makes up for in its versatility and control.

Gameplay update:

The main gameplay updates appeal to the third-person perspective players.

Players can alter the positioning of the camera to the left or right side of the character’s shoulder.

Additionally, players can position the camera to the latest lean or latest aim over the shoulder, this means when a player peeks around a static object or aims their weapon, the camera will lead to the same view when leaning or aiming again.

Players can fully adjust the camera settings in order to suit their personal preference.

And lastly, UI/UX updates:

A new keyboard guide added to the loading screen in the hope that new players will learn each key’s functions faster other than finding the key bindings in the settings.

As for in-game, players can approach objects on the floor and a new highlighted outline surrounds the loot to easily distinguish which weapon or piece of loot the player is picking up.

Improved map marker designs are an addition to the new update in order to avoid the confusion between markers and players. Although this is a small improvement, it will certainly aid many players.

Generally speaking, the new update sounds great. Not only is there new content which nobody knew about, there are also more bug fixes for the purpose of attracting more players with less capable PCs to play the game. By all means, let us know your thoughts below, we’d love to hear from you!
