Another week, another set of Season 8 challenges to complete in Fortnite. This is the fourth set of challenges released in Season 8, and there are some difficult endeavors this week. As per usual, these can be done in any regular game of Fortnite, but some will need more attention than others.
If you missed last week’s challenge guide, make sure to check it out so you can keep earning those Battle Stars.
Here are the Free and Battle Pass challenges for Season 8, Week 4 of Fortnite.
With the new pirate-themed season in Fortnite, there came a multitude of new themed items to the game. One of these items is the Treasure Map, which can be found in chests and on the floor in legendary rarity only. Although you physically can’t look at this map, once you equip it there are arrows and markers that appear to give you an idea of where to go. As long as you pay attention to your screen, the location of the Buried Treasure will become visible. As for actually acquiring these Treasure Maps, there is no concrete way to obtain them in a game. However, if you play long enough and land in lower-populated areas, a Treasure Map is bound to pop up. Find two of these maps and their Buried Treasure locations to complete this challenge.
Another on-theme challenge, this one poses a more difficult task than finding Treasure Maps. The Pirate Cannons are found in some new locations, like Lazy Lagoon. However, some of the more prominent spots are the little outposts scattered across the map. These wooden structures are home to at least two cannons and are not usually populated by many people early on. A good strategy for this challenge would be to land at one of these outposts, wheel the cannon out, and find a house or building. At this point, you can continually fire yourself at the structure until it is destroyed and then move on to another.
As with many of these challenges, some luck is needed with this one. Finding a certain weapon is all up to chance, but play enough and a Scoped or Suppressed weapon will show up. Fortunately, there are several weapons in each of these categories.
For Scoped weapons, any scoped sniper rifle, the Scoped and Thermal Assault Rifle, and the Scoped Revolver will all count. The Scoped AR is probably the easiest to get an elimination with, but the snipers are a good choice as well. As for the Suppressed weapons, the Suppressed Assault Rifle, the Suppressed SMG, the Suppressed Pistol, and the Suppressed Sniper Rifle are all included. Any of these weapons is a viable option, but getting an elimination with a Suppressed Sniper Rifle will, of course, kill two birds with one stone.
This is the easiest challenge this week, as Ballers can be found plentifully across the map. Epic Games did just decrease their spawn rate in all areas by 50%, but there are still more than enough to complete this challenge. Simply hop in a Baller across five different matches and the challenge is complete.
This challenge is completed in stages and can only be completed following the correct order. Once you land at Tiltled Towers, the next stage will open up, which is landing at Junk Junction. This goes on until all five stages are done. While there is some luck involved with this depending on what path the bus takes, it shouldn’t take much effort. After each stage is completed, you are awarded five Battle Stars in total.
For grizzled veterans of Fortnite, making it to the top 10 is no issue whatsoever. However, for those that don’t regularly get in a top 10 situation, here are a few tips to help complete this challenge. First, land at a location that is out of the way of the battle bus’s path. This will increase your chances of finding some good loot without the hassle of having anyone chase you. Next, if you’re not in the next circle, find a Baller or Driftboard and make your way to the outer portion of the zone. Securing a vehicle makes it harder for enemies to hit you and gives you extra mobility. Try to not engage any fights that don’t need your involvement and keep maneuvering near the outer edge of the zone. With all of this, you should find yourself in the top 10 and this challenge is done.
As with most weeks, these two locations will be jam-packed with fellow players attempting to complete this challenge. Pleasant Park is usually a hot drop anyway, so be prepared for an engagement right away. Landing on a roof of a house yields the highest probability for finding a chest, but there will most likely be an enemy below you. Try to find a shotgun or SMG early and start hunting opponents. The same thing applies for Happy Hamlet, as every weapon is likely to be found inside a house. There is no set strategy for this challenge except hope you get lucky finding a weapon of some sort.
Once every challenge is finished, the secret banner will become available. This banner is replacing the usual Battle Star, but the same Battle Pass tier skip still applies. This week’s location is found on the walkway of the volcano on the northeast side. It is next to a pedestal with a torch on top. Interact with it and the free Battle Pass tier skip is yours. If you need help finding it, there are screenshots of where to look below.
That’s it for all the challenges this week! We hope this guide was helpful in completing this week’s challenges! Make sure to come back next week for the Week 5 guide. For more content, stay tuned into Fortnite coverage at Daily Esports.
