Fortnite Winterfest delayed Epic Games update

Winterfest was set to kick off today in Fortnite, but last-minute changes seem to have delayed the event. Epic Games, of course, hasn’t announced this, but according to leakers, Winterfest will arrive tomorrow, on Dec 18.

The reason for the delay appears to be caused by the delay of the v11.31 update. This update was supposed to include the arrival of Winterfest along with other changes to Fortnite. However, Epic Games has postponed this update until tomorrow, meaning Winterfest is delayed with it. We still don’t know the exact time the update will release, but it should arrive sometime in the morning.

Winterfest postponed until tomorrow?

As the day starts to wind down, the chances of Winterfest releasing becomes less and less likely. Epic Games likes to release their updates and events early in the morning so all regions have a chance to play before the day is up. However, we’re now halfway through the day, and there’s still no sign of Winterfest. This likely means the Fortnite event is postponed, as leaks suggest.

Fortnite is currently being played on version v11.30, which is not the correct version. Supposedly, the v11.31 update was set to launch today, but it was delayed for some reason. Epic Games has offered no explanation, so we can only guess as to what issues popped up at the last minute. On the other hand, since no official statements have been made, there are still slim odds that Winterfest will release today. Doubtful, but possible. We can only wait and see.

Should the one-day delay occur as expected, it’s currently unknown if Fortnite will extend Winterfest’s end date by one to compensate for it. However, this does seem likely, as Epic has a plan for each day of the event with their Presents.
