South Korean esports organization Gen.G barely avoided relegations during the 2019 LCK Spring Split. Ending the season with a 5 win and 13 loss record, the League of Legends roster also didn’t qualify for the LCK Playoffs. As such, changes are now in order.
On May 20, the organization announced it had signed Lee “Kuzan” Seong-hyeok (이성혁) as their starting mid laner. Kuzan joins the League of Legends roster from ES Sharks, which also failed to qualify for the LCK Playoffs.

Lee “Kuzan” Seong-hyeok (이성혁) first started playing competitive League of Legends as a substitute mid laner on Jin Air Green Wings. He later competed under organizations like ROX Tigers, Hanwha Life, and ES Sharks. On ES Sharks, the roster did not manage to qualify during the 2019 LCK Summer Promotion after losing to Jin Air Green Wings.
Kuzan’s new position comes after Yoon “SeongHwan” Seong-hwan (윤성환) was also signed to Gen.G for a jungler role last month.
Gen.G started off in the 2018 LCK Season after acquiring the 2017 League of Legends World Champion Samsung Galaxy’s roster. The current roster has consisted of Lee “CuVee” Seong-jin, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, Han “Peanut” Wang-ho, Kim “Roach” Kang-hui (김강희), Kim “Life” Jeong-min, and Song “Fly” Yong-jun.
There used to be more, however. After the 2018 World Championships, Gen.G lost several members. Kang “Haru” Min-seung (강민승) left to SK Telecom T1, Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in (조용인) departed for Team Liquid, and Lee “Crown” Min-ho (이민호) went to OpTic Gaming. Gen.G would then go on to only place 7th during the 2019 LCK Spring Season.
The 2019 LCK Summer Season starts on June 5. With Kuzan and SeongHwan now bolstering their ranks, how do you think Gen.G will perform in the 2019 Summer Split when compared to the Spring?
