Goichi “GO1” Kishida is one of the most widely known players in the FGC and Dragon Ball FighterZ. The 31-year-old Japanese fighting game player represents CYCLOPS athlete gaming across multiple titles. He is often referred to as a “King of Poverty,” which refers to his participation and dominance in anime titles without a large following. GO1’s incredible success and notoriety is due to his ability to play almost every play style at a high level. He is a beast at combo execution, applies unstoppable pressure, and can play unbreakable defense. All of his skills came together during the EVO 2019 Dragon Ball FighterZ grand final against his rival, SonicFox.

GO1’s emotional reaction is a true indication of his passion for his craft and the FGC. EVO has been an event that has eluded GO1, and he finally did it, solidifying that he is the best DBFZ player in the world. Through hand injuries and multiple heart-crushing second places, GO1 is back on top in 2019. He has placed in first for six out of the 10 events he has entered, and he isn’t stopping there. SonicFox, while his rival, loved seeing his win and displayed his love for his fellow competitor and his sportsmanship despite a brutal defeat.
GO1 competes in four fighting game titles currently, Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Under Night In-Birth, and BlazBlue. It is already hard enough to be on top in one title, but GO1 takes it three steps further. He has had high placings in all the titles listed and is a crowd favorite every time he takes the stage.
These are just the titles he competes in now. He is also regarded as the best Melty Blood player of all time and one of the best at Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax and Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match.
