Fortnite Greasy Grove Rift Beacon

Courtesy of leaks from the v10.20 update files, it seems like we now know where the Rift Beacon will go next. Previously located in the desert, it appears headed for what was formerly Greasy Grove. A fan-favorite Fortnite location, Greasy Grove was replaced with a frozen lake in the Season 7 update. Most known for its Durr Burger restaurant, leaks indicate that the Rift Beacon will be somewhere around this location in the upcoming week. What does this mean for Greasy and the snow biome as a whole?

Greasy Grove returning to Fortnite?

Once again, Fortnite leaker @HYPEX lets us know that Greasy Grove has a Rift Beacon with this update. While not exact confirmation, this is as close to being official as we’re going to get. These Fortnite leakers are rarely wrong as their information comes straight from the in-game files.

With every big update, the leakers can almost always tell where the Rift Beacon will head to next. Epic Games puts the intel in the weekly update files so they are prepared for the various steps. First, the Rift Beacon will appear, then become active, then change whatever POI it is close to.

However, unlike with the previous Rift Beacon spots, there is no real POI for the beacon to go to. There is a frozen lake with some houses, but that’s it.

It makes sense the Rift Beacon will be somewhere around this area, but as we haven’t seen any mention in the files of the snow melting or disappearing, it seems likely the snow will stay. However, Greasy could return with a different, more wintery look this time around.

Regardless, the Rift Beacon should be near the frozen lake later this week. If this does happen, come next Tuesday, some form of Greasy Grove will be back in Fortnite.
