Hearthstone Global Games 2019 returns with competitive tag teams

Hearthstone esports has just announced that the Global Games are back. This comes during the Hearthstone Masters off-season and features top players from around the world.

Hearthstone Global Games 2019 will feature teams of two players. The first player will be an eligible region’s top earner from the Hearthstone 2019 Masters Tour for Las Vegas, Seoul, and Bucharest. Meanwhile, player two will be invited by Blizzard to complete based on criteria such as their contribution to the Hearthstone community and lifetime earnings.

These teams of two are scheduled to complete online between Nov 15 and Dec 22. The Hearthstone Global Games will then culminate in a top four with a single-elimination format. As for the prize pool, it is $75,000 USD this time around.

First place will get the lion’s share of $20,000 USD, while second place will receive $10,000 USD. As for third and fourth place, these players will be awarded with $7,500 USD. Below is a chart of the detailed prize pool distribution:

  • 1st – $20,000
  • 2nd – $10,000
  • 3rd-4th – $7,500
  • 5th-8th – $3,000
  • 9th-16th – $1,000
  • 17th-32nd – $625

Over the course of the Hearthstone Global Games competition, the matches will be broadcasted over on the game’s official Twitch channel. The current broadcast schedule for each week is as follows:

  • Week 1: Nov 15 to 17, 5 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST
  • Week 2: Nov 22 to 24, 5 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST
  • Week 3: Nov 29 to Dec 1, 5 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST
  • Week 4: Dec 20 to 21, 5 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST
  • Championship Sunday: Dec 22, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST

Selected from 32 regions across the world, participants of the Hearthstone Global Games 2019 will duke it out for both regional pride and international glory.
