Counter UAV Call of Duty Warzone

If you’re anything like this writer, you probably just got hit by a Counter UAV in your Call of Duty: Warzone game. And now, you’ve hit up Google because you’re wondering what it is and how you get one yourself. This new usable kill-streak was added in the Season 4 update. However, it wasn’t included in the patch notes.

Once you activate your Counter UAV, everyone alive in the lobby will have their minimap completely obscured for 30 seconds. It will also knock out all markers on the larger tactical map for the duration. That includes contracts, gunfire markers, pings, squad markers, the gas, the circle – everything.

So, how do you get one for yourself? There are two methods you can follow. The first requires that you just wait until you find one. They drop extremely rarely from crates. The exact drop rate is unknown, but players have reported playing more than 50 Warzone games since the patch dropped and only seeing a Counter UAV once or twice.

The other method requires that you call in four – yes, four – UAVs all at once. This will still provide you with the Advanced UAV you normally get for three UAVs. But on top of that, you’ll also get the bonus Counter UAV. Strangely, though, you and your squad won’t receive any kind of notification or sound trigger if you deploy a Counter UAV in this way.

The total cost of that investment for your team will be $16,000. That’s quite a lot when you could buy your whole squad a loadout and four armor packs for the same price.

However, don’t underestimate the power of the Counter UAV in any Warzone game. Not being able to see contracts or the storm on the map is a huge setback for any team you’re fighting against. That’s especially true if you manage to call them in at a critical time.

You can also take advantage of game events such as the Fire Sale or the new Supply Run contracts. These can help you bring in a Counter UAV for a lot cheaper. Plus, Counter UAVs can also be a helpful way to thwart any team that’s stacking Advanced UAVs after a Fire Sale.

In the end, you’ll have to decide for yourself when the time comes. Keep all this information in mind so that you can make the best choice given your situation.
