Ever since the original Pump Shotgun was removed from Fortnite in Season 9, fans have wanted it back. While the Combat Shotgun is a decent replacement in its current state, it still doesn’t compare to the Pump.
Along with this, since the Combat Shotgun is a higher rarity than the Pump was, the current drop rate for Shotguns is abysmal. There are plenty of Tactical Shotguns lying around, but that weapon doesn’t cut it for most players.
However, fans of the original Pump may not have to deal with only two Shotguns for much longer. According to a data-mined Loading Screen, there could be a new Pump-Action Shotgun on the way to Fortnite.
Although it doesn’t seem likely that the original Pump will come back anytime soon, a suitable replacement could be on the way. Thanks to data-miners @FireMonkeyFN and @HYPEX, two miners with terrific track records, we have a leaked Loading Screen showing off a new Shotgun.
In this Loading Screen, we can clearly see that one of the characters is holding a new Shotgun. Though it does look similar to the Pump, the barrel is rather different. We aren’t quite sure when this “Breach Assault” Loading Screen will become available. However, whenever it does come into the game, it’s a safe bet to assume that’s when this new Shotgun will make its debut.
It’s currently unclear what this new Shotgun will be. While it does look a lot like a Pump-Action Shotgun, there’s no definitive proof. We will simply have to wait and see if Fortnite and Epic Games make an announcement about this new weapon in the future.
