PraY comes out of retirement, joins KT Rolster

League of Legends Pray joins KT Rolster LCK 2019 Summer

After announcing his retirement earlier this year, Kim “PraY” Jong-in will be joining KT Rolster’s League of Legends team for the summer split. The team announced in a post on their official Facebook that they are excited to welcome him to the team for LCK 2019 Summer. They ask for their fans’ support and encouragement to PraY as he unexpectedly decides to leave retirement. PraY hasn’t yet commented on the news at the time of writing this article.

KT Rolster in 2019 LCK Spring

This comes after an extremely disappointing LCK split for the KT Rolster organization. Moving on from their super team roster, they went into a full rebuild phase after the 2018 season. Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho and Go “Score” Dong-bin were the only core members left from the previous roster. They acquired a bunch of players in hopes of rebuilding their team. The most notable signing was former Kingzone DragonX mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong. Unfortunately, he wasn’t quite able to live up to the expectations. Furthermore, most other players the team picked up were quite mediocre, and this could clearly be seen in their play. Subsequently, KT weren’t able to fix their problems and found themselves bottom of the standings at the end of LCK 2019 Spring.

Consequently, the team had to play in the promotion tournament to retain their LCK spot. We have already written how the promotion tournament went. Long story short, KT didn’t have any trouble beating both CK teams or Jin Air Green Wings to re-qualify for the LCK.

Changes to the roster for summer

Following the 2019 spring split, changes were obviously expected. However, KT haven’t made any drastic roster changes leading up to the PraY signing. The only change they have made is parting ways with their substitute support Choi “Mia” Sang-In a few days ago. With this in mind, we can’t say if any additional changes will be made as it’s hard to predict how the addition of PraY will impact the team.

PraY has been a League of Legends professional player since 2012, when he debuted for NaJin Black Sword. His retirement came as a shock to many as he was seen as one of the better Korean ADCs. Nonetheless, we are happy to see PraY returning to the competitive stage and wish him the best of luck on his new team!
