Riot Games League of Legends Wild Rift

League of Legends: Wild Rift might still be in the alpha stage, but that’s not stopping Riot Games from improving it before the worldwide release. On the official Twitter account, Riot detailed several aspects that it will adjust for the mobile title’s launch. Most of these are balance changes to champions, but towers will see some changes as well. The Wild Rift account also teased an official website for the game coming soon. This will likely happen once it leaves its regional alpha release.

Wild Rift Champion buffs

Gragas

Gragas felt a little weak to Riot, so the devs reworked some of his cooldowns and AP ratios to be a little more powerful. The biggest complaint players seemed to have was that Gragas did not have enough MP to use his combos reliably.

  • Mana Regen 12 to 15
  • Mana Regen per level: 0.7 per level increased to 0.9 per level
  • Barrel Roll buff
    • AP Ratio: 0.7 increased to 0.8
  • Cooldown decreased 11/10/9/8s >>> 9.5/8.5/7.5/6.5s
    • Drunken Rage buff
    • AP ratio :: 0.5 >>> 0.65

Ezreal

Riot noticed that Ezreal suffered a little from low damage output for his “blue build” and ended up getting outclassed by ranged marksman champions. To help with this, it has switched up his recommended items and given Ez a buff to his Mystic Shot.

  • (1) Mystic Shot buff
    • Damage increased from 15/50/85/120 to 30/65/100/135
    • AD ratio increased slightly from 1.1 to 1.2

Wild Rift Champion nerfs

Master Yi

It turns out that when you can quickly heal and also put out tons of damage, it’s really hard to lose. Master Yi suffered from a terrible case of being too good, so the Wild Rift champ got a little AD nerf.

  • AD per level decreased from 4.55 to 3.6
  • Wuju Style active AD ratio decreased from 0.35 to 0.25

Vayne

Vayne has always been a late-game all-star, but in Wild Rift, she was just a little overwhelming. To help reduce this, Riot toned down her attack speed buff from her Silver Bolts ability and increased her Final Hour cooldown.

  • Silver Bolts active Attack Speed decreased from 45/60/76/90% to 40/45/50/55%
  • Final Hour cooldown increased from 80/70/60s to 100/80/60s

Jynx

While small, Jynx will also receive a nerf to her attack speed. Riot Games did not list the exact details for the Wild Rift champ nerf, but this is likely just a slight adjustment.

Other Wild Rift notes

A few other features got tweaked for the alpha release, including tower stats. Taking feedback from players, towers will get a buff to bonus damage to make them feel a bit stronger.

  • Backdoor Bonus Tower Damage :: 10% >>> 20%
  • Backdoor Bonus Tower Damage Reduction :: 66% >>> 75%
  • Domino Bonus (temporary damage reduction after previous tower destroyed) :: 35% >>> 50%

As Riot Games noted, “So far, we’re pretty happy with Wild Rift‘s average game length (around 17 mins).” Therefore, the developers will monitor these changes to ensure that game length times don’t change much.

Riot also noted a few things it will watch in case they need adjustments in the future. Blitzcrank, Nami, and Jax can be a little too good in lanes and might need a nerf during an upcoming patch. Similarly, the ability Smite and marksman champions as a whole seem just a little too powerful compared to other abilities and champions.

Wild Rift is currently in closed-beta for Brazil and the Philippines. It will become available in more regions as the closed beta grows. The finished version of the game is expected sometime in 2021.
