Magic Arena patch makes earning rewards easier

Magic Arena

Magic Arena has released a brand new patch. The biggest part of this patch is great news for players: glass-styles are now easier to unlock! Many players had been complaining at the length of time spent grinding to get rewards. Player burnout is something WOTC claims to want to avoid (despite overloading us with spoilers), and so the rewards were made easier to earn. Also, if you fail to earn any of the glass styles during the event, they’ll be available still in the shop for purchase. Prize distribution is now as follows for the event:

  • 3 Wins: 1st Glass Style
  • 5 Wins: 200 Gold
  • 7 Wins: 2nd Glass Style
  • 10 Wins: 3rd Glass Style

Store

The store on Magic Arena has also received some new changes. Core Set 2020 is now available for pre-order in the shop. For $50, players will receive the following:

  • 50x Core Set 2020 booster packs in MTG Arena
  • 1x Chandra, Awakened Inferno card
  • 1x Chandra, Awakened Inferno card style
  • Core Set 2020 card sleeves

Glass Style planeswalkers are also available to buy in the store. The available ones include:

  • Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God: 600 Gems
  • Chandra, Fire Artisan: 500 Gems
  • Domri, Anarch of Bolas: 500 Gems
  • Nissa, Who Shakes the World: 500 Gems
  • Karn, the Great Creator: 500 Gems
  • Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner: 2000 Gold
  • Saheeli, Sublime Artificer: 2000 Gold
  • Kaya, Bane of the Dead: 2000 Gold

If you’re still looking for your favorite planeswalker, don’t give up! It will be available later through codes, in the store, or by simply playing Magic Arena. If think you missed a code, check out some of the older ones.

Bugs

A few bugs got patched out with this new update. God Eternal Kefnet shouldn’t cause the game to stall out anymore. Also, Dauntless Bodyguard can now give Indestructible to planeswalkers that were considered creatures when targeted by Bodyguard’s effect. The looping static sound bug is now gone, so players’ ears can now rest easy.
