Interestingly, Maister’s greatest challenge of the tournament seemed to come in pools. There, he faced off against Charlie “Charliedaking” Antoun, who pushed him to game five. Nevertheless, Maister came out on top and advanced into Winners Quarters, where he defeated Larry “Larry Lurr” Holland.

In Winners Semis, Maister earned a 3-1 victory over Saleem “Salem” Young. He looked even more dominant in Winners Finals, sweeping Brian “Cosmos” Kalu with a 3-0 set count. While Cosmos was able to take a game in their Grand Finals set, Maister still won the set rather convincingly. As a result, Maister won 2GG: Nightmare on Smashville, a B-tier event.

Maister has had remarkable results throughout this season. He boasts 5th place finishes at Super Smash Con 2019 and Port Priority 5, and 3rd place finishes at Smash Factor 8 and The Big House 9. All the while, he has not placed below 17th at any tournament this season. Maister has now added his first PGRU-eligible tournament win of the season to this résumé.

Now that Nightmare on Smashville has concluded, the final roster for Smash Ultimate Summit 2 is set. The following players will compete at the invitational event: Leonardo “MkLeo” Lopez, Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey, Nairoby “Nairo” Quezada, Tyler “Marss” Martins, Paris “Light” Ramirez, James “VoiD” Makekau-Tyson, Takuma “Tea” Hirooka, Antony “MuteAce” Hoo, Sota “Zackray” Okada, Samuel “Dabuz” Buzby, William “Leffen” Hjelte, Randy “RFang” Fang, Adam “Armada” Lindgren, Ezra Samsora Morris, Eric “ESAM” Lew, and Maister.

Other results from 2GG: Nightmare on Smashville
