Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Campaign

Another leak has surfaced for the supposed arrival of Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. We’ve heard a plethora of rumors and leaks over the past year that signal Activision has the title ready. However, due to a variety of circumstances, the publisher has been holding on to the game and remains tight-lipped on its existence.

This may have changed today though, as a South Korean rating agency has filed a classification for “Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered”. Could this be another hint that we’re close to receiving the popular title?

What does this mean for Modern Warfare 2 Remastered?

This isn’t the first leak we’ve gotten about this particular remaster. Earlier this month, we reported on an inside source claiming MW2 was arriving with the next Call of Duty title. Of course, this wasn’t verified by any official means.

However, today we do have concrete verification that Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is in the works. A South Korean rating agency known as Game Rating and Administration Committee filed a classification for the title on March 20.

Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Activison

It appears that Activision Blizzard filed the request for a rating on Feb. 26. The South Korean agency apparently just completed its assessment today, and so this application was officially filed.

One major aspect of this application is the fact that this is for the MW2 Campaign. This doesn’t mean that multiplayer couldn’t accompany the Campaign, as most Call of Duty titles are rated based on their story modes. Most aspects of multiplayer derive from Campaign, which is likely why Activision wanted it rated.

Though this is a leak, it’s also an official document that has Activision Blizzard’s name on it. There’s no further doubt Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is in the works. However, we still don’t know when the announcement or the title itself will arrive.
