Call of Duty: Modern Warfare CDL team camos Activision

Late yesterday, some Call of Duty League team camo bundles were seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Activision released the promotional images along with a description. According to the company, the camos are supposed to go live in Modern Warfare‘s Item Shop on Jan. 24. That’s the same day as the start of Launch Weekend for the CDL, so the timing adds up. However, within an hour of the images being released, Activision deleted the images and blog post where they announced the skins. As of right now, we’re unsure if it was an accidental deletion or if they were planning to release the skins on Jan. 24 and jumped the gun too early.

CDL team camos in Modern Warfare

Professional team skins have long been a desirable cosmetic in Call of Duty. Usually, each title doesn’t feature team skins until the very end of the year or sometimes not at all. However, with the brand new Call of Duty League, most expected this to change.

Well, for about an hour, it did change, as Modern Warfare seemingly had CDL-inspired team camos. Each organization had a different bundle with all sorts of different cosmetic items. Things such as weapon camos, calling cards, home and away outfits, and emblems were all on display.

We saw a bundle for Atlanta FaZe, Dallas Empire, Chicago Huntsmen, and Minnesota Rokkr. After the images were released, fans and professionals alike shared their excitement for the bundles. However, this was short-lived as Activision quickly deleted all remnants of the announcement.

Revealed through the company’s weekly blog post, this was a bit shocking to the community — and equally so when it went away. Activision has yet to comment on the CDL team camos or the reason for their quick deletion of the post.
