Modern Warfare leaks say classic maps will return

Modern Warfare maps

Activision has already said publicly that any maps or items post-launch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be free. Thanks to a leak from who else but ever-reliable TheGamingRevolution, we now have a good reason to believe that classic series maps will be among the offerings. This came out during a recent Twitter Q&A that also discussed how many maps there will be at both launch and after launch.

Fan-favorite maps returning for Modern Warfare

Activision and Infinity Ward have said Modern Warfare will be the most content-filled Call of Duty ever. While we’ve heard this before, it does seem to be true according to what we’ve seen and heard. TGR is claiming through trusted sources that some classic maps will be making their way to Modern Warfare. Though this will be after release, it gives the community something to look forward to down the line.

When will these maps release?

Shipment, Rust, Terminal, a reworked version of Wetwork, and more fan favorites are coming according to TGR. However, Shipment will be renamed Cargo and be used for Gunfight. Shipment has also been tweaked to coincide with Gunfight’s mechanics. There’s no word on if Shipment will be available for 6v6 though.

This is obviously great news for fans of the previous Modern Warfare games. Both Rust and Terminal are some of the most well-known maps in not only Call of Duty but gaming as a whole. There are also more classic maps in development that TGR did not mention as well.

Terminal is one of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty.

Only time will tell if these leaks turn out to be true. TGR has an outstanding track record, but maps can be scrapped easier than other features. If any of these maps do end up coming to Modern Warfare, our guess is the first of these maps will be coming sometime in early December.
