A new playlist update for Modern Warfare is now available on all platforms, Infinity Ward has announced. There is no extra download needed, just make sure you restart your application to apply the update. However, some players might not want to apply the update, as some unpopular changes were made. With the new patch, the Shoot the Ship playlist was removed, along with Drop Zone and Snowball Gunfight. Shoot the Ship was by far the most played playlist as of late, so many are not happy with its removal.
Shoot the Ship, Drop Zone replaced
When Shoot the Ship was introduced a couple of weeks ago, the community was thrilled. Combining both Shipment and Shoothouse was a great getaway for players who wanted constant action. While the Shipment spawns were awful, it’s all part of the fun with that particular map.
Today, though, the playlist update has replaced it with Shoothouse 24/7. This could just be Infinity Ward taking Shipment out so they can work on the horrific spawns. However, players are still up in arms over the removal of the frenetic-paced map. It’s unclear when Shipment will return to Modern Warfare.

Along with Shoot the Ship, Drop Zone was replaced with Grind, an objective-based game mode. Similar to Kill Confirmed, players must retrieve tags and bring them to their base in order to collect points for their team. It was last seen in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Finally, Snowball Gunfight, or Snowfight, was removed from the rotation. This mode was only meant to last until the new year, so its removal doesn’t come as a surprise.
Many Modern Warfare fans are hoping that Infinity Ward brings back Shipment quickly. What do you think of the update? Let us know, and keep up with Daily Esports for all Modern Warfare coverage!
