Before the second day of playoff series started, the NBA 2K League announced its individual superlative awards Thursday afternoon. The announcement featured the league’s MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Sportsmanship Award, Coach of the Year, and Rookie of the Year.

All awards were voted on by the league’s players, managers, media, broadcast talent, officials, and fans. The five awards given out Thursday were spread across five different teams.

NBA 2K League Most Valuable Player: Nidal “Mama Im Dat Man” Nasser – Blazer5 Gaming

Nasser dominated the league in the regular season. The Blazer5 Gaming point guard won the regular-season scoring title, averaging 23.1 points per game. He also finished second in the league for assists per game at 11.6. Nasser led Blazer5 Gaming to a 14-2 regular-season record and the top seed in the playoffs.

NBA 2K League Coach of the Year: Jeff Terrell – 76ers GC

Coach Terrell led the 76ers GC squad to an 11-5 record in the regular season and a three seed in the playoffs. The team finished the year strong to qualify for the postseason with a four-game winning streak. 76ers GC were one of the top teams when it came to tournament time this year. Terrell and the Philly group started the league’s second season by winning The Tip-Off Tournament. At The Turn Tournament, 76ers GC made it to the final before falling to Warriors Gaming Squad. For The Ticket Tournament, 76ers GC advanced to the quarterfinals.

NBA 2K League Rookie of the Year: Brendan “Reizey” Hill – Magic Gaming

Hill was a star on Magic Gaming’s roster in his rookie year. He led the team with 17.3 points per game and 9.8 assists per game (fourth in the league). Hill’s assist average led all rookies in the league. The point guard helped Magic Gaming to a 9-7 record, just missing the playoffs by one game. Hill was taken ninth overall in the NBA 2K League draft and was one of five players to make the first NBA 2K League All-Rookie Team on Wednesday.

NBA 2K League Defensive Player of the Year: Marcus “Godddof2k” Glenn – Cavs Legion GC

Glenn had a big night on Wednesday by being named to both the All-Defensive Team and All-NBA 2K League Second Team. Not known for his offense, Glenn made up for it on the other end. The small forward led Cavs Legion GC in steals per game with 3.6 (second in the league). He caused headaches to opposing squads and was known for his lockdown defense.

NBA 2K League Sportsmanship Award: Mihad “Feast” Feratovic – T-Wolves Gaming

Feratovic is known around the league for his calm demeanor on stage. In a league that separates its players by just a few feet, Feratovic remains quiet and lets his game do the talking. The center averaged 10.4 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game down low. He also added 3.3 assists, 2.6 steals, and 1.1 blocks to his stat line.
