“Esports is one of the most lucrative industries right now and its future is bright. As a professional athlete and a passionate gamer, I understand and appreciate what ReKTGlobal is doing to further connect the worlds of traditional sports and esports,” commented Landon Collins on his decision to invest. “I love competition and the competitive nature of the gaming industry and I’m excited to enter a new realm of competition through my investment with ReKTGlobal and Rogue.”
Collins joins other celebrity investors like Dutch DJ Nicky Romero, American pop rock band Imagine Dragons, DJ Steve Aoki, and music moguls Marco “Tainy” Masís and Lex Borrero. In addition, NBA player Rudy Gobert for the Utah Jazz and Twitch content creator Benjamin “Dr. Lupo” Lupo are also investors in ReKTGlobal. As part of his involvement with the investment, Landon Collins will engage in strategic partnerships with ReKTGlobal during the NFL offseason. He may also create and collaborate on content creation alongside the organization’s esports players like other investors have.
“Landon is a passionate gamer who can go head to head against esports pros and beat them. A legend on and off the field, Landon Collins is a great fit to add to our all-star list of investors,” said Amish Shah, Founder and Chairman of ReKTGlobal. “We are thrilled to welcome him to our organization and growing family.”
ReKTGlobal most recently purchased one of 12 franchise slots in Activision Blizzard’s upcoming 2020 Call of Duty League. The London Royal Ravens join Rogue’s other teams in League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros., and Apex Legends. Earlier this year, the company also acquired fan solution company Full Cube and New Jersey-based media company Greenlit Content.
