One of L.A.’s Call of Duty League teams is named the Guerrillas

L.A. Guerrillas Call of Duty League

Last night, we got a surprise announcement from one of the Call of Duty League organizations. While we’ve heard at least some news regarding each team, both Los Angeles spots haven’t let out a peep themselves. However, that changed late last night when the Kroenke Sports and Entertainment-owned spot revealed their branding. Named the L.A. Guerrillas, this organization hasn’t revealed anything else up to this point. No roster or personnel announcements, no updates, and no plans for making any unveilings. But now, we do have their official name and logo along with a Twitter page.

L.A. Guerrillas are official for the 2020 CDL

When this Twitter account was created, many thought it was fake. After all, this news was seemingly dropped out of nowhere. However, we now know it to be official, as the Overwatch League’s L.A. Gladiators – also owned by Stan Kroenke’s group – tweeted about the account.

The above tweet is all the information we received. No team website or additional announcements were made about the Guerrillas’ future plans. Perhaps they’re waiting until right before Modern Warfare, but it’s assumed all CDL teams will have some kind of roster within the next week.

The L.A. Guerrillas are owned by Stan Kroenke, who also owns the NFL L.A. Rams, NHL Colorado Avalanche, NBA Denver Nuggets, and Premier League team Arsenal. His group, Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, also owns the OWL L.A. Gladiators.

Solely going off Stan Kroenke’s affiliations, we may get a peek into where the Guerrillas may play their CDL home matches. On the official Twitter account, we can see an image of SoFi Stadium in the header. SoFi Stadium is being built for the NFL L.A. Rams and Chargers, with plans to open in July of 2020. However, the fact that this image is the header for the Guerrillas could signal that it will play some kind of part in the CDL. Whether it will be a training facility of sorts or where home matches take place is anyone’s guess.

In regards to the unannounced Guerrillas roster, we are confident in saying we know at least four of the players on the roster, thanks to @INTELCallof Duty.

Still, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement to confirm anything.
