It looks like the newest addition to the League of Legends European Championship is revealing their roster. Origen confirms that they are fielding Barney “Alphari” Morris as their top laner. Jonas “Kold” Andersen will be their jungler, while Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm will play in mid. Patrik “Sheriff” Jírů and Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez round out the roster in the bottom lane.
Cant wait to see you guys soon !!

Also, the new-look Origen coaching staff is live and ready for the public as well. Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez remains the team’s owner, but he is also introducing a few new people to the organization. For example, popular EU LCS shoutcaster Martin “Deficio” Lynge is now Origen’s newest general manager. For the head coach position, they are bringing in André “Guilhoto” Guilhoto, who would last coach for FC Schalke 04.
Origen is assembling their roster from all over the league. In the top lane, Alphari is joining from Misfits Gaming, who had gone through a big roster overhaul this past offseason. After a disappointing end to his 2018 year, he will look for redemption with Origen. Kold will be looking to also bounce back from a lackluster year, especially with Unicorns of Love failing to make franchising.
Their mid laner, Nukeduck, was a huge part of FC Schalke 04’s success last split. Alongside the veteran leadership of jungler Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider, they would push to third place in the 2018 Summer Split, a huge upgrade from their eighth-place finish the split before. They would end up meeting Fnatic in the Summer Finals, where they would lose in four games. Still, a great improvement for the team’s first true season in the EU LCS.
Their bottom lane will have the most question marks, as it pairs a young, inexperienced ADC with a European legend. Sheriff is an 18-year-old bottom laner who would play his first EU LCS games this past year. He wasn’t the best AD Carry by any standard, but he could see some growth playing with Mithy. Mithy is also coming off a lackluster year, where he would transfer over to North America to play for Team Solo Mid. He would join the team alongside stars like Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, and longtime bottom lane partner, Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen. Unfortunately, TSM would suffer the worst year in the organization’s history. Although the lineup would have tons of potential on paper, they simply could not find enough synergy to make it work.
Glad to see so many people discussing our roster. The goal for myself and @AndreGuilhoto94 was to build a team with experience, great communicators and mechanically gifted carries that can shine in a well-oiled machine.

For many of these players, they are being given a blank slate to work with alongside Origen. Origen is looking to reinvigorate themselves as a true power in the LEC. This could be a great opportunity for both sides. For example, Mithy will be playing with a new ADC for the first time since 2014. It will be understandably difficult for him to adjust to a new ADC after playing with Zven for so long. However, it will also allow him to grow in ways that he could have never thought of. Can Origen rise to the top of the European League of Legends scene again?
