Lifeguard Pharah Overwatch Summer Games

It’s August again, which means its almost time for Overwatch‘s Summer Games event. The Overwatch team revealed the first new legendary skin of the event today via a tweet, Lifeguard Pharah. Here’s what to expect for the coming event, scheduled for August 4.

Lifeguard Pharah and Surf’s Up Echo

Lifeguard Pharah and Surf’s Up Echo will be Legendary skins that release with the Summer Games event. Pharah’s skin features her in a swimsuit with a life jacket. She has her hair in a ponytail and is wearing a whistle around her neck. As a Legendary skin, it will cost 3,000 in-game currency. You can, of course, also find it in a loot box.

Echo’s skin turns her wings into surfing boards and gives her watery “hair.” This will be the first event skin for the Omnic Hero, as it is her first event.

The Summer Games event

Every year in the Summer Games, Blizzard brings Lucio Ball back to Overwatch. Lucio Ball is a three vs. three game mode where all six players play as Lucio and try to score a ball into the opposing goal. Lucio has a special set of abilities for the game mode but plays similar to how he does in standard Overwatch games. The game mode is similar to Rocket League, except with Lucios instead of cars. Players can choose to play casually or competitively.

In addition to the extra game mode, there will also be a plethora of new skins, sprays, voice lines, and other cosmetic content. As with every Overwatch event, players will be able to get this content in loot boxes or with in-game currency. Lifeguard Pharah is the only skin we’ve seen so far, but expect to see more in the coming days as we approach the event.

The event begins tomorrow, August 4, and should go for about three weeks after it begins. Be sure to stay tuned to Daily Esports for more about the Summer Games event in the next few days.
