Philadelphia Fusion release emongg and Kabaji

North American Overwatch League franchise Philadelphia Fusion has announced that two of the organization’s partnered streamers have been released. Jeff “Emongg” Anderson and Emre “Kabaji” Dincer are popular Overwatch live streamers who joined in 2018. Both personalities have previously played in the competitive scene.

Emongg and Kabaji

Jeff “emongg” Anderson had a vast history before joining Philadelphia Fusion as a partnered streamer. He previously played competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for North American esports organization Noble Esports in 2015. Afterward, he played Overwatch under Selfless Gaming alongside San Francisco Shock player Jay “sinatraa” Won, Philadelphia Fusion player Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee, and former Atlanta Reign player Daniel “dafran” Francesca.

Eventually, the players and coaching staff on the former Selfless Gaming roster left to pursue careers on separate Overwatch teams. Because of this, emongg joined the Fusion, where he has since participated in Rivalcade, Alienware Monthly Melee, and Overwatch Rumble events.

Emre “Kabaji” Dincer is an Austrian streamer who joined Philadelphia Fusion in March of 2018. He played for Austria in 2017’s Overwatch World Cup. He also used to be a Hanzo main but currently plays heroes like Tracer, Soldier 76, Widowmaker, and McCree. Kabaji had previously been offered positions on teams, but he decided he preferred to stream instead.

Philadelphia Fusion

The San Francisco Shock defeated the Vancouver Titans in a 4 – 0 match at the recent Overwatch League Grand Finals in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Fusion, meanwhile, finished the most recent season in 10th place with 15 wins and 13 losses. The team then lost to the Shanghai Dragons in the Quarterfinals of the Play-In stage.

This is a far cry from the organization’s results in the Inaugural Season, where they placed 2nd after a loss to the London Spitfire in the Playoff Finals. Last week, Director of Overwatch Operations Yann “Kirby” Luu was also released from the team. Will the Philadelphia team make other roster changes in the offseason? Let us know what you think.
