Call of Duty League launch weekend cdl

The Call of Duty League is finally upon us as Launch Weekend in Minnesota begins tomorrow, January 24. Every team will be in attendance to play Modern Warfare on LAN for the first time. We’ll be getting our first look at how teams plan to make use of the new substitute system, as well as the new patch in action. While we still don’t know how teams will play and what they’ll do, there are some squads clearly ahead of others. Today, we’ll be ranking each CDL team based on how we think they’ll perform this weekend.

Call of Duty League power rankings

1. Atlanta FaZe

2. Dallas Empire

3. Chicago Huntsmen

4. Seattle Surge

5. Minnesota Rokkr

6. New York Subliners

7. Florida Mutineers

8. OpTic Gaming L.A.

9. Toronto Ultra

10. London Royal Ravens

11. L.A. Guerillas

12. Paris Legion

This list is based solely on how we believe each team will perform at Launch Weekend. So, for example, OpTic Gaming hasn’t looked great in online scrimmages, but LAN is a whole other monster. A team can completely turn their performance around when they get on LAN. So, OpTic receives a middle-of-the-road ranking because of this.

To start, the top three spots are virtually locked in by everyone in the community. The Atlanta FaZe are by far the best team right now, as the “Tiny Terrors” have been shredding their opponents. Following FaZe are the Empire and Huntsmen, who both look strong. That’ll also be the first matchup of the CDL, taking place at 5:30 EST tomorrow, January 24.

Beyond that, the middle of the list is somewhat interchangeable. The Surge, Rokkr, and Subliners all have solid rosters with a ton of experience on LAN. The Mutineers roster will be interesting to watch, however, as they are a bit of a question mark heading into the event.

The bottom of the rankings, though, isn’t really up for debate. Both the Guerillas and Legion haven’t scrimmaged much so we aren’t too sure how they’ll perform. Also, they have arguably the weakest rosters in the CDL.

So, there you have it! This is simply our opinion, but we’d love to hear who you think will dominate Launch Weekend! Make sure to keep up with Daily Esports for all CDL coverage.
