Esports fans heading to Fan Expo Canda in Toronto this weekend will have more to check out than just the cool cosplays. WorldGaming Network is hosting the Rocket League WGN North American Championship there this weekend. Eight teams of three will be competing from across North America. First place will take home $10,000 and a trip that allows the winning team to compete in DreamHack Pro Circuit Rocket League Montreal. Bragging rights of course of earning the Rocket League championship title are also on the line. For the team that places second, they will receive $4,000, and third place takes home $1,750. A total of $20,000 in prizes will be given away over the course of the weekend.
You can also watch the finals live on Twitch. If you are attending Fan Expo this year make sure to stop by the Rocket League Booth #2003 on Level 800, which has a free play arena. They will also be handing out free swag and prizes all weekend long. You can then head to the Rocket League Arena set up for the Championship finals. It should be exciting to watch.
More and more cons are now adding esports to their lineup of events and activities for those in attendance, which is great. It gives gamers a chance to enjoy something a little different as well.
