As with any new update, future Fortnite content is being leaked left and right. Data-miners, while not having as much to work with, are finding upcoming cosmetics, challenges, and LTMs each day. Earlier, for example, we went over leaks of the next three weeks of Overtime challenges. Now, an exciting new LTM has been data-mined by several sources. According to these sources, a Search and Destroy LTM is in the game files, meaning Epic Games has done a majority of the work to implement it.
What will Fortnite Search and Destroy look like?
Search and Destroy is a game mode made famous by Call of Duty titles, being one of that series’ most popular casual and esport modes. Other multiplayer titles have imitated the concept, with Apex Legends being the most recent in their Holo-Day Bash event.
Now, it appears Fortnite will also try its hand at executing the beloved concept. However, one thing is a little different with this LTM compared to the others. As seen in the PC files, Search and Destroy looks to be a Creative-only mode.

While more game modes are never a bad thing, many fans had hoped to see this kind of mode in regular Fortnite. The same sentiment was felt when they announced the Liferun Creative game mode last week.
Either way, Search and Destroy seems like it’s ready to release with the next update or two. If you’re not familiar with the mode, it’s essentially a deathmatch between two teams, but you only have one life per round. Once you die, you wait for your team to eliminate the other team or vice versa. Usually, there are 11 rounds, with the first team to reach six rounds winning the match.
