TSM Team Solo Mid

As the roster reveal season continues, one of the biggest teams in League of Legends, Team SoloMid, has announced their roster for the NA LCS and Academy team for the 2020 season.

2019 Spring Split finals was second most viewed LCS finals of all time

The TSM LCS squad

The LCS roster sees several familiar faces for TSM fans. Star mid-laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg remains with the team and has signed the first official equity-based contract in the LCS. He is expected to remain the core of Team SoloMid’s lineup for many years to come, and fans couldn’t be more excited. Another player that remained on the roster is Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik. This will be BrokenBlade’s second year competing in the LCS, and he will have a lot to prove once more.

Besides these two pillars, another familiar face is returning to the roster. Vincent “Biofrost” Wang previously played in the support role on the TSM roster back in the 2016-17 season. After the 2017 split ended, he switched to Counter Logic Gaming to compete alongside Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

The LCS roster is completed with the European AD Carry Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup – previously the star player on Splyce in the LEC – and Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett. Dardoch’s signing to the TSM roster proved very surprising to many in the community. His performance in the last split with Optic Gaming was nothing but underwhelming. Fans are excited, though also nervous, to see how he will perform in the year ahead.

The coaching staff

As the strategic aspect of League of Legends grows in importance with each passing year, the coaching staff has become something that many teams have invested a lot into. The supporting staff for the TSM roster is no different. It’s looking like one of the most impressive we have seen thus far in the west.

Zhang “Peter” Yi returns as the head coach. Peter has coached professional League of Legends teams since all the way back in 2014. For TSM, Peter started coaching their LCS roster in July of 2019 after he led the TSM academy team to second place in the NA Academy Spring Split. TSM’s performance in the last split was not all the organization hoped to achieve – their goal has always been to be the best. That makes the re-signing of Peter a good metric of his impact on the team overall. The team believes Peter can allow them to become the best, and that will be their aim throughout the 2020 season.

Peter will be supported by Head of Performance David Denis – a specialist in esports psychology – as well as strategic coach Jangsik “Lustboy” Ham, Assistant Coach Haitham Algbory, and Head Analyst Sevag Titizian.
