With the launch of Rise of the Elements for auto battler game Teamfight Tactics, Riot Games has partnered with Red Bull to host a two-day competitive event. The Rise of the Elements Invitational will feature 16 of the top streamers, content creators, and influencers over Oct. 30 – 31. The competitors will clash on an arena specifically built for TFT, with a point-of-view stream for each participant on YouTube and Twitch.

The 16 players will be split into two groups to participate in a qualifier match to determine finalists for day 2. Each group will play five matches starting at 9 a.m. PST, with points being awarded to players based on their placement on the leaderboard. Players can also earn points from challenges, which are described as “alternate win conditions that grant extra points.” No further information has been disclosed about what types of challenges there will be.

Only 15 players have been announced so far, consisting of content creators itsHafu, Scarra, dogdog, Disguised Toast, Reckful, Kibler, SuperJJ, and Sologesang. In addition, becca, Keane, ik4rus, sasa, Rakin, Holythoth, and Duende will participate. G2 Lothar, Phreak, Ovilee, and LeTigress will serve as on-air broadcast talent for the tournament.

Teamfight Tactics rules

The top four players with the most points on the first day will then advance to the next. In total, eight players will compete in Day 2 until one contestant has earned three wins. The tournament will feature a $150,000 prize pool, with the winner receiving $15,000. The grand winner will also be given a custom Teamfight Tactics jacket, with a special lining that features their most loyal followers in the community.

There is no 2nd or 3rd place though, with all players that have made it to Day 2 earning $10,750. The players who were eliminated on Day 1 will receive $7,500 each as well. Fans watching all the action can earn an in-game cosmetic mystery emote too. This can be accomplished by simply watching the entirety of one game live on the League of Legends Esports YouTube channel.

Beforehand, one must link their Riot Games account to their YouTube account to be eligible. An email will also be sent to the account associated with a fan’s League of Legends account to notify them of the reward being earned.
