It’s hard to go wrong with Wild. It is one of Teamfight Tactics’ most flexible and useful synergies. By increasing attack speed team-wide, it improves the effectiveness of many items and champions. It also increases mana generation, effectively also benefiting spellcasters.
Here are some tips for maximizing your team’s potential when you go Wild!
Complete the synergy
A partial Wild synergy gives your Wild champions up to 35 bonus attack speed. By adding just two more Wild champions you can spread the buff to your entire team.
It is almost always better to complete the synergy. There are many non-Wild champions who benefit from additional attack speed. Kassadin is a prime example, as his entire functionality is built around attacking.
Match it with compatible champions
Wild is compatible with almost all other synergies in the game. Gunslinger, Demon, Glacial, Assassin, and Void are the most obvious combos. But there are other champions and synergies that benefit from Wild in subtler ways. All Shapeshifter champions, for example, get extra mileage from their auto-attacks after they transform. Elise gets lifesteal, and Gnar gets additional damage per attack.
A note about combining Wild with Gunslinger — prioritize completing the Wild synergy before the Gunslinger synergy. In most cases, a complete Gunslinger isn’t much stronger than a partial one. Gunslingers don’t always have more than one extra target within range. Almost all Gunslinger champions have area-of-effect abilities, too. The complete Gunslinger can be devastating, but it can also result in a lot of overkill.
Have a frontline
The Wild synergy buff is strong, but it doesn’t kick in instantly. It takes a few seconds in combat before it winds up to its full potential. And like many other Teamfight Tactics strategies, the key to dishing damage with Wild is to make sure your damage champions are protected.
A couple of Brawlers up front can usually do the job. Warwick is a Wild Brawler who naturally enables this composition. Guardians could also work. Glacials provide durability through crowd control, but they don’t protect from getting nuked with spells. And much like with Gunslingers, you should try to complete the Wild synergy before focusing on the Glacials, because it scales better.
Build the right items
There are a ton of Teamfight Tactics items that get stronger with faster auto-attacks. Here is a partial list of the best items to build for Wild teams.
- Tear of the Goddess + Recurve Bow = Statikk Shiv. Every third attack deals 100 spell damage in an area around the target.
- Giant’s Belt + Recurve Bow = Titanic Hydra. Wearer deals 10 percent of max health as splash damage with each attack.
- B.F. Sword + Recurve Bow = Sword of the Divine. Each second the wearer has a five percent chance to gain 100 percent critical strike.
- B.F. Sword + Tear of the Goddess = Spear of Shojin. After casting, wearer recovers 15 percent of their mana with each attack.
- B.F. Sword + Negatron Cloak = Bloodthirster. Wearer heals for 50 percent of auto-attack damage.
- Spatula + Negatron Cloak = Runaan’s Hurricane. Auto-attacks hit two additional targets for 50 percent damage.
