Westballz, MuteAce, and Ginger join Thunder Gaming

Westballz, MuteAce, and Ginger join Thunder Gaming Super Smash Bros.

Thunder Gaming has continued to add Super Smash Bros. players and personalities to their competitive team. The organization recently started their esports team by bringing on Jestise “MVD” Negron and Victoria “VikkiKitty” Perez. Their team has since expanded. Antony “MuteAce” Hoo has joined Thunder Gaming as a Smash Ultimate player. Meanwhile, Avery “Ginger” Wilson and Weston “Westballz” Dennis have joined as Melee players.

Thunder Gaming brought on Ginger as their first Super Smash Bros. Melee player on August 14. MuteAce joined them as their second Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player on August 16. In true Thunder Gaming fashion, the organization ran a Twitter poll before patroning MuteAce. Through this poll, they asked if they should patron a Melee or Ultimate player.

Thunder Gaming continued to expand their team by bringing on another Falco main, Westballz. Westballz officially joined the organization on August 17. More endorsements are likely on the way. Before even announcing that Westballz was joining the team, Thunder Gaming confirmed that they would patron content creators as well.

The organization also recently announced that MVD would take on the role of team captain. It is unclear exactly what this means. However, it seems that MVD played a part in selecting MuteAce and Westballz as the next people to join them. MVD may be involved in future endorsement decisions as well.

MuteAce, Ginger, and Westballz: Thunder Gaming’s newest players

Both MuteAce and Ginger have joined Thunder Gaming at promising points in their career. MuteAce achieved the No. 27 rank on the first ever edition of the PGRU. His notable placements include 17th at CEO 2019, 13th at Low Tier City 7, and 1st at DreamHack Dallas 2019. MuteAce has wins over Sota “Zackray” Okada, Eric “ESAM” Lew, Robert “Myran” Herrin, and Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios.

Ginger placed No. 18 on the Summer 2019 MPGR, his highest ranking in Melee to date. He placed in the top 8 at GENESIS 6 and the top 16 at Full Bloom, Pound, and Smash Con. He has also earned many impressive wins in the process. Ginger has beaten Johnny “S2J” Kim, Cody “iBDW” Schwab, and Kurtis “moky” Pratt.

Westballz finished at No. 26 on the Summer 2019 MPGR, his lowest ranking to date. This is quite a fall from his former peak of No. 8 in the world. Still, it is a testament to his skill that, at his worst, he is still a top 30 player. Thunder Gaming’s Westballz recently made top 16 at Smash’N’Splash 5 and won Smash Factor 8. He has beaten S2J, Shephard “Fiction” Lima, Griffin “Captain Faceroll” Williams, and Joey “Lucky” Aldama.
