World of Warcraft esports organization Method and the World Showdown of Esports (WSOE) have partnered up for the Classic Race to World First event.

The event, which will feature the upcoming World of Warcraft Classic release, will be livestreamed between Aug. 26 and Sept. 2 this year from the PokerGO Studio located in Las Vegas. It will have a mix of speed levelers, content experts, as well as top World of Warcraft streamers in a race to achieve “firsts” in the remastered game.

Featured players will include Esfand and TipsOut, as well as Djarii, Hotted, Maldiva, Sco, and Zizaran. These players will race to be the first ones to get their characters to level 60 and lead guilds in order to defeat Onyxia and Ragnaros.

“The WSOE and Method partnership will bring unforgettable action, nostalgia, and around-the-clock entertainment to the World of Warcraft community,” Christian Bishop, the WSOE commissioner, said. “We look forward to bringing WSOE’s signature high-quality production value to yet another gaming genre.”

Shanna “Darrie” Roberts, the general manager of Method, is also excited about the event, saying, “Bringing the Classic Race to World First to the WSOE calendar of events in Las Vegas is incredibly exciting for all of us at Method.”

Darrie added that after two previous Race to World First events within Europe, it is fantastic to have the event in the states as well.

“The passion of the WoW fanbase is unparalleled and we are confident that Estars Studios is going to help us not only live up to the expectations of the fans, but exceed them,” Darrie said. Estars Studios is the content company that is working with Method to produce the WSOE esports tournament series.

World of Warcraft Classic fans can tune in for all the action on the official Method Twitch channel, as well as the WSOE one.
